Rachel and Greg’s St. Augustine’s Wedding Reception

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

To change the scenery a bit, Rachel and Greg decided their ceremony and reception should be in St. Augustine. The rooftop ceremony (at the White Room) overlooked the entire beach and provided some breathtaking scenery.

The reception was a blast, too! Both Rachel and Greg LOVE to dance, so they stayed on the dance floor the entire time. The wide range of tastes in requests allowed for a very eclectic mix of music the whole night.

While they wanted a lively atmosphere, they didn’t want to take away from the overall ambiance of the place; thus, they decided on minimal lighting. A few uplights painted the walls with their wedding colors without pulling away from the look they had in mind.

Winter Park DJ Orlando Wedding MC Arabic Music

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Sometimes, simple looks better! Keith and Areej hosted their reception at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market (past Orlando). This is a former train station surrounded by brick, adorned sparingly but the charm is certainly visible.

They requested all white uplights and an all white light show, which blended perfetly with the venue.

Their family and guests were big partiers, dancing to everything from Top 40, club, oldies, and a large array of Arabic music, especially Dabke. Monica and I had a great time! Check out the pics and video below!

Courtney and Cameron’s “Pantsoff” Reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Cameron and Courtney are one fun couple– and their guests proved to be in the same mindset. The wedding started off with a lot of energy and ended just as upbeat.

The ceremony worried Sagar and I, as the weather pulled through and was clear (and overcast, yay) just long enough for the ceremony and photos to occur. Luckily, the storms ended about 30 minutes before the ceremony began. *whew*

The reception itself was a blast, as I got to play quite a few songs that are on my personal favorites list, including Cheap Trick’s “I Want You To Want Me.” Their first dance, Lady A’s I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, is also one of my favorite songs. Check out the video to see more!

We did the blindfold bait ‘n’switch garter replacement, per their request (these are always fun), but no one expected the switchee’s pants to come off– LOL!

Kirby and Sharon’s Wedding Reception

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Every wedding has a unique playlist, but as a DJ, I see many songs requested again and again; this isn’t a big deal as I enjoy all kinds of music, but Kirby and Sharon’s wedding playlist was exceptional! They made no specific requests (other than Elvis and Black Eyed Peas), they just wanted to party all night.

weddings Kirby and Sharons Wedding Reception

As the evening went on, their intimate wedding reception (hosted at the Lake Mirror Tower in Downtown Lakeland) quickly tuned into a party. Though it was a small dancefloor, it had no effect on the energy that was unleashed. Suddenly, I got to play songs that I don’t often get to play: 867-5309, 500 Miles, Any Way You Want It, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, My Sharona, and What I Like About You… sweet!

Then I got some requests for music that have not been requested before, including David Bowie’s Golden Years and the Safety Dance… wow!

David and Nancy’s Legen-wait for it-dary reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

David and Nancy are an awesome couple… they love Disney (well, they also work there), watch The Office, and adore “How I Met Your Mother.” Perfect, Barney Stinson could’ve co-hosted this wedding with me. On top of it all, they’re huge Glee fans. (You know, huge isn’t the word to describe it, so I’ll begin with dedicated.) This means that on top of a great sense of humor with creativity, they’re gonna have a very eclectic music taste.

Boy, did I profile this one right. The overall party was a blast, and I had a lot of fun with the HIMYM references! With Carlisha as their coordinator, they created very unique centerpieces portraying various Disney movies.

As usual, the Paradise Cove in Kissimmee was beautiful, and a blast to work in. After the photos of the wedding, you can see some shots of the place itself. Make sure to check out the video, too! weddings David and Nancys Legen wait for it dary reception!

John and Diana’s Afternoon Reception

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Wedding afternoons can be a challenge because the broad daylight may hinder the dancing atmosphere…. but that wasn’t true for John and Diana’s family. It was a small wedding reception, held at the Leu Gardens in Orlando, but they had a great time regardless!

weddings John and Dianas Afternoon Reception

The reception really started off once the toasts began. John’s best man, John (there were lots of Johns at this wedding reception), put together the most creative wedding toast that had everyone, including me, rolling on the floor laughing.

I had to capture this speech…. it was priceless. Check out the audio clip below:

Several guests were from El Salvador, so they needed a Hispanic DJ (I’m from Costa Rica) that could play their Hispanic requests of Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia Salvadoreña. I had a great time (and awesome food provided by John Michael Catering) and the Orlando-based Leu Gardens is always a beautiful place to DJ a wedding reception! Bryan and Michele’s Superbowl reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Michele heard about us from her friends Alan and Sheri whose Lakeland Wedding I DJed a while back. They wanted a fun reception that would keep their friends and family dancing or having fun at all times– despite it being Superbowl Sunday (Packer VS Steelers).

It wasn’t too hard from my end– these people came to party and have a good time. Held at the Magnolia Building, the room layout included both the ceremony and reception. They didn’t have any lights, but that wasn’t the look that they wanted and they didn’t need it with the elegant design they chose!

Chas and Chrissy’s amazing wedding!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Chrissy and Chas had some of the coolest wedding colors ever: Royal Blue and Silver. However, Sebring-based Kennilworth Lodge has a lot of brown colors in the room…. Thus they opted for our awesome blue uplighting to paint the walls as well as flood lighting to enhance the white linens and later create an inviting atmosphere on the dance floor. To complement everything, a classy monogram was projected in front of their head table.

The dance music was amazing, as I got to do a huge megamix of old-school bass music, including my favorite: 69 Boyz. The last song of the night was BEP’s “The Time (Dirty Bit)” and I got the opportunity to really mix with 4 decks as I dropped in several backbeats.. this is a must-listen! weddings Chas and Chrissys amazing wedding!

Monica was also there handling our SnapYourselfSilly Photobooth while Jenny took some amazing photos!

Jodi and Jose’s stunning reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Jodi and Jose had one vision in mind: a stunning wedding reception that exuded elegance but thumped like a nightclub when we cranked it up. Yup, there’s a DJ for that. weddings Jodi and Joses stunning reception!

Now there’s something about the name Rodriguez that is synonymous with night club receptions, so keep ‘em coming!

That being said, we had one challenge: Jose is deaf and couldn’t hear the music. Using our powerful 4SchoolsOnly subwoofers and the awesome 4Bar setup, along with the 7′ video screen showing music videos, Jose was ableto feel and see the music.

weddings Jodi and Joses stunning reception!

While the Bayanihan offers LED uplights like we do, LEDs cannot do browns or certain teals accurately. Jodi and Jose’s colors were Aqua Teal and Brown… LEDs cannot produce these colors (brown– fugghedaboutit) so halogen uplights had to be brought in with carefully matched gels.

They were a great crowd– Kyle and I had such a blast! Check out photos and videos below!

Jessileen and David Knowles FISTPOUND at their wedding!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

The day after Timbercreek’s exhausting homecoming (we got home at 6:30AM), I had a wedding to gear up for.

My biggest worry with weddings in homecoming season is that they may not be as energetic as the homecomings (100 close friends and family in a formal affair vs 1200 students screaming for their lives)… this was not the case at Jessi and David’s wedding.. no sir! The energy was THROUGH THE ROOF!

weddings Jessileen and David Knowles FISTPOUND at their wedding!

Held at the awesome Admiral’s Inn, Charles and I knew that setup and timeline arrangement would be a breeze! Paul, Christi, Norma, and the rest of the crew are such easy people to work with!

So how high-energy was the reception? One word: FIST POUND. For a good 20 minutes, we played electro remixes of Top40 music while everyone fistpounded away!

So check out the photos below…. the very last set, watermarked, are by Cabrera Studio Photography based out of New York. The videos are a must watch, too!
