When Carlisha from A Rose Design sent Mark and Sara our way, we knew they’d be an amazing couple to work for. Sara is a geologist and Mark works in engineering for the Disney Orlando theme parks, but also used to be an animator for the animation giant. They’re huge Star Wars fans, or really any of the big epic movies, and wanted to incorporate that into the wedding.
Since they were worried that no one in their family dances (which was a “Challenge Accepted” moment for me), they also wanted to do the Bride & Groom Game Show.
Fast-forward to the day of, the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista was decorated with an all white look with centerpieces that Mark made himself. Their primary wedding color, blue, would come in through the uplighting. However, we had a small dilemma, all the beautiful white in the room was offset by the yellow tint that ordinary lights give away. This is when my wife, Monica, came up with the idea of mounting our LED blinders to bounce off the ceiling. Now the room was pure white and the blues looked amazing!!!

The ceremony was a bit cold, but guests were greeted with some of the best tasting hot-cocoa ever as they walked in to the cocktail hour. If that wasn’t enough, there were delicious cookie to accompany said cocoa.
The event itself was a blast and even when it was an intimate wedding reception, people did dance. Check out the pics and video below!

Jason and Brooke created a VERY unique atmosphere for their reception. The ceremony, under a gazebo, had the fresh smell of rain, but it was clear by the time the ceremony started.

Outside the reception, a bounce house was set up for the kids to play in. We brought in a bubble machine to complement the bounce house and the kids went absolutely wild! (The adults did, too, haha).
Inside, we played a little bit of everything and jumped throughout many genres. Check out the pics and video below!

If you’re wondering about the title to this entry, Melantha and Min are both doctors, as was 90% of their guest list.
It’s been a while since I have worked at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is a shame because I love the place. It’s next to Lakeland Linder Airport, the staff is great, and the food is just wonderful!

I also got to work with Joanne from Events by Joanne; we go way back and she always does a great job creating a look that reflects the couple’s personal style.
We dropped in sound for the ceremony, performed for the reception, added dance floor lighting and uplights in their wedding colors.

So after a while of not working together, Kelly and I got to tag team a wedding reception again. Shawn and Whitney hosted their reception at Eaglebrooke Golf and Country Club.
Enough said. If you read my material long enough, then you know I melt for the amazing food here. We were invited to a delicious feast including a make-your-own fajitas and a pasta bar.. mmmm. Soooo good.

With 250 hungry people, we got a little behind, but no worries: people came to celebrate, dance, and have a good time. Indeed, as soon as the first beat dropped, the floor packed and stayed that way.
Our lighting package absolutely transformed Eaglebrooke and really brought out their wedding colors. Pics below and an awesome video– you gotta check it out!

Brittany and Pierce did something remarkable– host their wedding at a night club.. love it!
Their passion for electronic music, remixes, and mashups made me giddy with excitement! Even though it was an early-day reception, that didn’t stop their family and friends from dancing non-stop.

The best part was it was a quick setup and breakdown since Shephard’s has its own sound system, lighting, and even turntables. Funny enough, VJ Kidd Leoww jumped in right after the wedding was over because the club was just opening up as I was packing.

Even then, we still provided purple uplighting, a table light under the cake table, uplight stairs (you read that right) and a custom monogram.
This was TRULY an exciting night and one that Monica, Carlos (our Snap Yourself Silly Photobooth attendant and trustee co-coordinator for the ceremony), and I will never forget!!
