Sebring chose a GREAT theme this year that involved black lights, lasers, glowsticks.. “Glow Crazy.” Unfortunately, the emergency lights couldn’t be off the entire night, but that didn’t stop the students from rocking out all night.
Even our smallest package, with a few upgrades, surpassed everyone’s expectations of what a school dance company should bring out. Everyone had a blast dancing this year, including the teachers who had to join in on the fun!
4 Points Sheraton AKA Chateau Elán in Sebring could not have expected the madness of this wedding… heck, Tim Hicklin of Storybook Weddings and myself (and wifey) included couldn’t have expected it. Every song was a floorpacker and the energy kept getting higher and higher!
Several of the family and friends were either Hispanic, Arabic (Lebanese, I believe), or a little of both. This presented some challenges from my end to make sure we could fit the cultural traditions/requests while keeping everything in balanced. This also meant I was going to have a huge dance crowd.
From the Belly Dancer during dinner all the way to the fistpumping last dance, Craig and Hannah were the most energetic couple I’ve seen in a long time. Hannah was a non-stop dancer, and the joy on Craig’s face told me he was enjoying himself. THAT, my dear friends, is a mission accomplished!
Check out the photos and video (now in HD) below.. and make sure to watch the fun Garter Replacement Switch! (Since the photographer was only contracted until a certain time, I was asked to snap a few shots of the grand exit.. shared below as well!)
Another high-energy prom under the books! The 4 Points Sheraton Chateau Elan looked absolutely beautiful thanks to the work of Mrs. McGovern. Kaerdi used her theatrical experience to transform this Sebring hotel into a Wonderland adventure for the students. Our lighting and uplighting complete the look for a total venue transformation!
Even though Sebring High is a smaller school, their energy was through the roof. Check out the video summary as well as the photos!
Chrissy and Chas had some of the coolest wedding colors ever: Royal Blue and Silver. However, Sebring-based Kennilworth Lodge has a lot of brown colors in the room…. Thus they opted for our awesome blue uplighting to paint the walls as well as flood lighting to enhance the white linens and later create an inviting atmosphere on the dance floor. To complement everything, a classy monogram was projected in front of their head table.
The dance music was amazing, as I got to do a huge megamix of old-school bass music, including my favorite: 69 Boyz. The last song of the night was BEP’s “The Time (Dirty Bit)” and I got the opportunity to really mix with 4 decks as I dropped in several backbeats.. this is a must-listen!
Monica was also there handling our SnapYourselfSilly Photobooth while Jenny took some amazing photos!
Check out some of the photos and video I shot below!
….not for the Lochness Monster, lol! It seems Josh and Merideth love South Park, too, and wanted that joke tossed in somewhere during the dollar dance.
And so we talked about that dang Lochness Monstah and other things for 2 hours on our final meeting…
…yes, this was another fun couple!
So here comes their wedding day.. they had a beautiful 1:00 Ceremony at Ana Maria Island, just avoiding the 60MPH+ winds that hit us out of nowhere. Their reception was held at the Elk’s Lodge in Sebring where they had a catering team that had the most DELICIOUS prime rib I’ve had in that area. Jenny, Adam, and I had a lot of fun providing DJ, MC, and a surprise Photobooth (SnapYourselfSilly.com) and Dance Under the Stars courtesy of Merideth’s sister, Leah.
On a personal note, I used to hold a leather notebook with the names of people I would introduce. After a while I ditched this and used my iPhone. Now… I use NOTHING, allowing MUCH better eye contact with guests!
Well…. my last prom for this year was also 4SchoolsOnly’s last PromX stop as well. LPHS had a similar package as Hardee High’s Prom except that the screen filled the Chateau Elán’s LeMans ballroom from floor to ceiling. This was another smaller crowd, with numbers around 150– but that didn’t stop them from dancing.
They were a unique bunch… we had two guys that literally had a routine dance to every song I played. I lost count of how many times a circle was made around them– thank God for live video– it really made things more interactive! Their principal announce the king and queen and as I played various instrumentals for introductions, the entire room broke out chanting the lyrics!
Meanwhile in the corner, Jenny with SnapYourselfSilly Photobooths was holding down a line eager for the photos that print in less than 15 seconds!
Adam, a longtime friend and wedding client joined us for this one. Methinks he wants to be part of the 4SO crew. Time will soon tell! Check out the photos and the now-improved (I did color correction) video below!
Hardee High School is one of my fave schools because I truly feel welcomed there– the students and teachers always call requesting me by name. As a DJ, I love that feeling! (They email me every year asking what I would like for dinner… such a wonderful gesture!!)
Being a smaller school, their prom is not one of my usual 500-700+ crowds, but rather a modest 100-150; However, these 150 students came in with only one thing in mind: PARTYING. Just like every year, they create their own decorations and always surprise me with the amazing stuff they come up with. They’re a very creative bunch!
Check out their Video Explosion BLE (Black Light Edition) complete with Glow-in-the-Dark Bubbles and lasers. Photos were done by the amazing Alex Gilliard. Not only is he an outstanding photographer, but a close friend as well!
As I was leaving my house, I worried about this party, not because of the crowd, but because I had NO VOICE and a sinus infection that lasted over 2 months. Luckily three things came into play: 1) My wife came with me 2) Don from Alan Jay Auto was the guest MC (we always play off each other, haha) and 3) These people dance non-stop!
This was my second year performing for the Heartland Realtors and they are such an amazing group! Don and I cracked jokes on each other on and off the mic and he left them hyped up enough that they were ready to dance.
Last year was all about 80s and rock… this year they loved 90s dance and Top40. It got so intense they everyone popped the balloons to pull out the flashing LEDs. As soon as that happened, all the lights were shut off and a rave came into play!
WOW! Corporate Christmas parties just don’t get any better, not wilder, than this!!! After a great dinner hosted by 4 Point Sheraton’s Chateau Elán, these people were READY to party! What made this party so great? A packed dance floor the entire night— to every kind of song you could think of! I was able to go from 60s and beatmix straight to Lil Wayne and the crowd kept lovin’ it! A great mix of Italians, Hispanics, a great bunch from Miami, New York, Chicago and of course locally made this party as unique as they were! Requests were flying everywhere and they loved every bunch of it– especially the line dances!
Hardee was real special this year… why? Because this was the senior prom for one of our very own: Derek! Alonso and I tore it up on the dance floor, playing all the big hits as well as classic throwbacks. This is the only school that requests Cumbia so I got to play a few smash hits including my personal favorite, Kumbia Kings.
This was done at the Wauchula Civic Center. The decorations (which were stunning) were done by the students, parents, and faculty.
It was a slow start, like last year, but once they were in it was blown out of proportions. The haze really made the lasers pop.
