Arsenio and Tirsa’s extraordinary wedding reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

2 DJs…
2 MCs…
2 Lighting Techs…

1 Wedding.

Sounds like a movie trailer, script huh? Nope, it was just a wedding so involved and so carefully planned that we needed a dual-team for everything. You see, Tirsa and Arsenio wanted a fun MC that would make announcements in both English and Spanish– fluently. Rather than announce everything twice, I brought Charles Casiano with me to do the Spanish announcements and also to add a bit of interactivity. He also helped DJed while I ran other parts of the show as well.

And the Rusty Pelican, whose staff told me there wasn’t enough power for big shows, had JUST enough power to run the main items. Yay! The room was beautifully decorated by the one and only Flowers by Marilyn. It seems her and I just keep bumping into each other. weddings Arsenio and Tirsas extraordinary wedding reception!

Patty, from Storybook Weddings, was there to capture everything! You’ll see a sample clip of the amazing first dance on clouds below, too!

Everything was custom here: custom Love Story by Storybook Weddings, custom accent lights projecting water ripples on the flooe, custom monogram, (very) custom intro, custom first dance song set… custom everything! Wait until you see the photos!

The video is a MUST-SEE, as you gotta watch their very cool intro!

Oh, and Tirsa may just need to work for us… she grabbed the mic and had a blast interactive with the guests!

WOW! It’s HOT!!!!! Robbie and Shannon’s reception!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

First, I would like to share a poem I wrote about Florida:

#*&^, It’s Hot.

I most certainly hope your life has changed upon reading my classical piece of Shakespearean rivalry! weddings WOW! Its HOT!!!!! Robbie and Shannons reception!

In all seriousness, it was hot… but it didn’t stop Robbie and Shannon and their guests from dancing ALL NIGHT LONG. Shannon is Elizabeth Voss‘s sister and I still remember that wedding clear as day. Kelly and I were worried that it may appear to be the same show…. we had the same family and friends, so would music and style be the same? Nope!

After talking to Anne, the super-cool mother of the bride, we were assured that they would be polar-opposites… and yes they were. One had air conditioning, one was at the beach. weddings WOW! Its HOT!!!!! Robbie and Shannons reception! Just kidding, of course; In all reality, the weather wasn’t that bad… the outdoor ceremony was breathtakingly beautiful and the reception site was beautifully done including the Chinese lanterns that lit up the room in a soft glow.

The mood was kept upbeat the entire night as we played slideshows and music videos during dinner…. ooh, and I forgot to mention that we played Soca during cocktail hour. You can’t beat that!

Just like Jeremy and Elizabeth’s wedding, everyone danced all night! We didn’t have a chance to shoot photos at this wedding, but Tina Sargeant, the photographer, will provide me with some to share– I can’t wait to see it!

Watch the video below and check out an amazing party– including a hot old school set featuring Snoop Dogg, DMX, and Biggie, some Jersey-style Fistpounding, and double-dutch jump rope… without the rope!

It was an amazing evening… I can’t wait for this family’s next big party! Tune in about a year from now to see it! weddings WOW! Its HOT!!!!! Robbie and Shannons reception!

Who says people don’t dance in the middle of the afternoon??

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

Kyle and Kayla were a blast!!! Their ceremony and reception was at a friend’s house… and the property was BEAUTIFUL!! The ceremony overlooked a gorgeous lake surrounded by the woods. Afterwards, guests were treated to delicious strawberries fresh from the owner’s fields. The warm chocolate mousse and REAL whip cream added the perfect touch!

The reception was a blast, too! It wasn’t a huge dancing crowd, but those that danced REFUSED to leave the floor! Everything was played that night: rock, country, rap, techno– you name it!

On a personal note… the drive home wasn’t as fun… let’s just say I got my van stuck in a NASTY ditch, you’ll see the photo when you click below. Thank God my wife and I and the equipment/van didn’t get hurt!

Check out the photos and video below. Sorry for the crappy video angles… I was working solo!

…Epic Wedding and the world's youngest DJ!

Author: Arnoldo Offermann  //  Category: Weddings

ARGH! I wish I had an assistant… just to film! I’m going to have to hit them up for a copy of their wedding video and I failed to capture the best parts from one of the most epic weddings of all time.

From my end of things, I got to try some new MC styles that involved a lot of audience-wide interaction off the mic.. of course, this would never work with 200+ person weddings, but I digress…

Patrick, Stephanie and I have been planning this party for MONTHS (just ask them, haha!) and it all paid off with a beautiful ceremony, a fun cocktail hour, the most amazing food I’ve had at a wedding (nothing beats home-cooked meals) and a packed dance floor all night.

Oh yes, and a three year old assistant! Caitlyn, the flowergirl, asked if she could help with the introductions…. it was cute and I couldn’t say no… (She’s the most adorable lil’ thing you’d ever seen). I let her start off the first dance and she felt like one-of-a-kind! She asked if she could be my helper and I realized I made a new friend.

She actually helped me dismiss tables, mingle with guests to get requests, and play music. The last part ABSOLUTELY amazes me… my set up was 200 feet away from the dance floor… not a problem if I have an assistant, but I didn’t have one of my guys with me… and my iPhone’s remote control program decided not to work today! However, Caitlyn was really enjoying her position as the head DJ for the night (I was assisting her mind you, lol) and she played all the music ON cue for each part of a VERY elaborate bouquet and garter toss (over 10 songs).. she hit every song in and out ON CUE.

Let me say this one more time… she hit the songs RIGHT ON CUE. SHE’S THREE YEARS OLD!!! Needless to say, it was the most amazing moment I’ve had as a DJ. Her parents are now on my Facebook, lol!

Such a great set of family and friends really made this wedding amazing… at the end, I enjoyed a conversation with her brother, Brian(who’s getting married– congrats), father-of-the-bride Tony, Patrick and Stephanie, and a couple other guests.

This wedding sparked something within me though… my love and passion for the wedding industry has grown anew…. stay tuned for some new ideas I’ll be implementing real soon!!

Check out photos and video below! The video does this amazing wedding no justice.. I’ll have to track more footage down!

Mason & Kayley Cobb's Wedding

Author: arnoldooffermann  //  Category: Weddings

What an amazing wedding! I was the DJ whereas Kelly MC’d. (His blog can be found by clicking here.

The wedding was held outside Kayley’s father’s house in a huge tent in Avon Park, FL. The location was beautiful… what once was a steep hill was paved to a nice flat area with fresh sod to hold 400+ friends and family.

The coordinator, Gini Beth (http://www.ginibethsweddingsandmore.com), did an amazing job putting everything together.

This was definetly a country crowd who enjoyed hits such as I’m a Cowboy, Amarillo by Morning, Cowboys Like Us, Copperheard Road, and many other hits.

A few things Mr. and Mrs. Cobb did that are great wedding tips!

  • When having your reception outdoors, make sure the DJ/band has plenty of room and coverage from the sun & wind
  • PortaPotties are NOT fun. Consider renting a “trailer restroom” like they did. Spacious, air conditioned, and has working plumbing!
  • Purified Water available! (Especially tasty when tap water may come from a well)
  • Match your surroundings! They chose a nice green to match the grass and flora surrounding the house.
  • DJ in front of dance floor. Yes! NO ONE SAT IN FRONT OF THE SPEAKERS!

Check out the great photos provided by Alex Gilliard as well as some stolen (again) from Kelly’s blog. Alex’s photos are watermarked so you can tell which ones are his. Be sure to stop by his blog and check out even more photos!

There’s also a GREAT video!

Oh yes, and there’s one more thing…. with 400 people, Kelly and I wanted to try a new speaker arrangement, so we brought out BOTH of our BOSE systems. Can you imagine a wedding with $10,000 just in speakers filling the room with rich BOSE sound?

Zolfo Springs Wedding 11-15-08

Author: arnoldooffermann  //  Category: Weddings

LIbby & Jess were a pleasure to work with and I enjoyed every bit of it– despite the rain! weddings Zolfo Springs Wedding 11 15 08 Even though it dumped all over the equipment for the ceremony, it still worked (thank God!) for the entire evening. We had a large setup in a tent with over 200 people.. so we had to make good use of the room we had! These people were here to PARTY… The entire celebration lasted over 8 hours!

Lights Transformed their Tent

Here’s some highlights:

* We did a Jeopardy-style game show.

* White trussing lit up to match the wedding colors

* BOSE Sound System

* Uplights

* Live Video Camera

* Starfield!

Libby & Jess wanted this to be a casual-style wedding, and requested I don’t wear slacks or a tie. So I came in dress jeans and a coat jacket. During the game show, I got to put on my “Gameshow Host Jacket.” Absolute cheese, but everyone loved it!

So check out the pics by clicking below! The first 9 are from a Alex Gilliard, an amazing photographer! Check him out at AlexGilliard.com

The rest of the pics were taken on my iPhone… and of course a video!
