David and Nancy are an awesome couple… they love Disney (well, they also work there), watch The Office, and adore “How I Met Your Mother.” Perfect, Barney Stinson could’ve co-hosted this wedding with me. On top of it all, they’re huge Glee fans. (You know, huge isn’t the word to describe it, so I’ll begin with dedicated.) This means that on top of a great sense of humor with creativity, they’re gonna have a very eclectic music taste.

Boy, did I profile this one right. The overall party was a blast, and I had a lot of fun with the HIMYM references! With Carlisha as their coordinator, they created very unique centerpieces portraying various Disney movies.

As usual, the Paradise Cove in Kissimmee was beautiful, and a blast to work in. After the photos of the wedding, you can see some shots of the place itself. Make sure to check out the video, too!

Gino and I had a blast at this one! John and Kaley are an awesome couple who just wanted to party. They knew their guests were very diverse in musical tastes and wanted a tight mix of music that would keep everyone dancing. The room set up was very elegant (and as always, the Omni Championsgate in Kissimmee/Orlando prepared a delicious meal), and despite them not opting for any lighting– it didn’t change the mood of the night one bit! Everyone danced all night, including the people behind us!

What an AMAZING wedding! First of all, I got to work at Paradise Cove in Kissimmee (near Orlando) with some amazing vendors: Karen Lupica (and her socks that rock), Shannon with delicious Big City Catering, Seth Cohen and his awesome video capturing skills, and Bill Peck with a non-stop frenzy of shutter-clicking.

Then we had Rayan and Sheila… Sheila is the bubbliest bride ever and Rayan was cool as ice about everything. With a couple like this– NOTHING could go wrong.

Then we have the guests– I believe everyone was Filipino which meant non-stop dancing.

Oh, and the coolest part? The groom’s party– it’s really hard to describe the epic awesomeness of their awesome epicness, just watch the video!

We brought out sound for both areas (tent and patio), three light trees with wireless control so there’s no mess of cables, a couple of centerpiece effects a lá discoball effect, a few rigged lights with their wedding colors to light up the patio and first dance area, and glowsticks. Yes, glowsticks.

Yes, I am aware that this is a LONG video at 13 minutes long… but it’s worth the watch, trust me! When we got to the club-style music, music was mixed in and out very quickly with some songs being 1-2 minutes and others only being 15-30 seconds long. When Greg & Melinda first met with me at our initial sales consult, I knew right away this would be an amazing wedding! She’s Puerto Rican whose family hails from Brooklyn, and Greg’s Jamaican, representin’ Queens. We kept in contact a lot recently through Facebook and I got to learn a lot about them… which helped me create some very exciting and unique introductions for them.

Fast forward to May 16th, Amanda and I are setting up at the beautiful Radisson Resort in Celebration (Kissimee), Florida. The monogram (which was designed by Melinda’s niece) looked beautiful on the dance floor. The draping white swags were glowing with color thanks to our LED floods perched gracefully on top of our BOSE sound system.

Outside, the sun finally hid and the rains stopped to create a slightly breezy, yet warm, warm atmosphere by the gazebo for their ceremony.

• First dance, God Bless the Broken Road, was sung live by close friends. They were amazing!!!
• VERY custom introductions featuring a song for each couple!

After Frankie’s Sweet 16 Friday, I was pumped up for Freedom High School’s prom. FHS was once told by a competitor that we DON’T have the best light show in Florida… it looks like we debunked that myth pretty quickly!

Choosing from our most popular series of packages, the Showstopper, this Orlando school chose one of my favorites, the Showstopper³. Featuring over 70′ of trussing and a 20′ wide screen; (not diagonal people, 20′ wide)!!!  The lightshow was amazing… I won’t delve too much into technical details but let’s just say you HAVE to watch the video!

Freedom is a very unique school; despite the urban population, the students LOVE techno, pop, and dance music… with the usual Rap, Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue, and Reggae.

A couple highlights:

• Worked with the new Principal, Dr. Borders. A very nice person to work with and very eager person to help create an amazing prom.
• Ms. Light (the sponsor), did an amazing job finding a great balance between DJ, decorations, and location. This really was a perfect event!
• Complete DJ thing next: Almost 300 amps of power to play with!! I only needed 100, but the extra was always welcomed.
• 20′ screen.. need I say more?
• Very little grinding thanks to high energy mixes and 1000 glowsticks!!
• The kids did the Hokey Pokey– I kid you not… it was remixed in with the new dance craze, Stanky Legg.
• Mr. Youtz did a GREAT job with the Senior Superlatives… there were some unique categories!
• My crew! My wife (Monica), Derek and Ray are amazing workers who put 1000% into this job.. no matter what it takes!

Field trip for all of us! Kelly (MC) and myself (DJ) drove to the Leu Gardens with KC Enterprises Photography. Kevin and Jessica Hallmark were a unique couple who knew exactly what they wanted…. they were so busy they couldn’t give us a playlist of their favorite songs. It’s no big deal because we knew how to read the crowd… Kevin complimented us right away on the fact that we played all his favorite songs and not once did he have to request any one!

Karaoke was a big plus here as several of them sang unique songs: Manson, Bjork, Gin n Juice… you name it!

They also started the dance floor with the Time Warp and we did amount of swing music. I loved it! I’ve attached some photos below. I will post KC Enterprises’ blog later so you can check it out as well!

Oops, forgot to mention: the Leu gardens have little signs that identify each flower. Kelly took a photo of a sign and I Photoshopped it on the spot with Kevin & Jessica’s names. As guests walked in to see photos from the ceremony appear instantly on the big screen during the reception, they were surprised with the following graphic in between slide shows!

WHOOWEE! An afternoon wedding that was ROCKING!

The crowd was hard to warm up first, but it was 3:00 in the afternoon. Once the first laugh came on (at intros, of course) it was a breeze.

THE GUESTS STOOD UP FOR THE ENTIRE FIRST DANCE AND PARENTS DANCES– ON THEIR OWN CUE!

How amazing is that?

The location was the Celebration (a city once owned by Disney) Golf Club. This place is GORGEOUS. Even the bathrooms were first class!

Lisa and Steven cracked me up. During the toast Steven, who is an IT consultant) pulled out his laptop when his phone rang to help a client… as the Lisa stood shocked, it was revealed that this was a prank!

The garter replacement was classic! You must watch!

Also, Kyle and I added a few new steps to the Cupid Shuffle.
